Navigating the outdoors
Levi Suusabaas consists of a close-knit group of friends & families, who share a love for outdoor adventure. Wanderlust takes them all around the world for ski trips & bike adventures, but all roads lead back to Levi, Finland where they share experiences & stories under the spirit of northern landscapes.
Our task was to create an evolving identity for them. Rather than being limited to a single design, the design changes seasonally, allowing each year’s adventures to introduce new variations in colour, graphics & pattern. The result echoes vintage outdoor gear, while maintaining a contemporary feel: An identity that celebrates movement, friendship & the pull of adventure.

The logo draws inspiration from Otso, a celestial bear spirit in Finnish mythology. As King of the Forest, Otso represents strength, harmony with nature & the untamed. In a playful narrative detail, Polaris (the North Star) forms the tip of the ski pole. Located in the Ursa Minor (Little Bear) constellation & historically used for navigation as a pole star, Polaris alongside Otso form a conceptual bridge between a guiding star & navigating the northern wilderness, reinforcing themes of wayward exploration.

Warm golden tones meet crisp snowy blues in the golden winter light that defines northern winters. Silhouettes of dusky mountains are stylised to create an abstract pattern, allowing it to work seamlessly on apparel from ski suits & cycling jerseys to accessories. This abstraction keeps the graphic flexible, while still subtly referencing the cold landscapes of Lapland that form the heart of the group’s adventures.

The identity includes a growing set of embroidered patches that commemorate every trip a member has taken part in. Collected & worn on garments & backpacks, these patches gradually build a personal record of journeys, achievements & shared stories.
